Oh, hai! This is so what I needed tonight. Something to just sink in to. The Doctor and River are just amazing together. Two people (if you can call the Doctor a people) whose minds are so very different from the ordinary connecting on mental islands of common ground. He is good for River. And she is good for him in her own way. He needs a companion, an audience, someone to look after to hold back the loneliness.

Then there is Sam, who is different, too, and trying so hard not to be. Hiding things from Dean, which is never good. Tied to the Doctor in some very strange way. (Via stardi?) I love his "voice" in this.

The final section with Rose and Pete was so sweet. A nice moment to end a chapter on.

This story is like a nebulae. Cosmic matter spinning around and around, wanting--needing--to coalesce somehow into a new star to shed light on everyone. It is a little dizzying, sometimes, to look at, but it is also beautiful.

YAY! i find river hard to write, but i love her a lot, so i keep trying. and yes, i think the doctor and river would be so good for each other. *hearts*

OMG, I just saw Midnight last night on SciFi and I'm still trying to push my jaw back into place. The folks who write that show are frickin' geniuses. And the actors!!!! That wordplay knocked me out. I wanted to pitch every one of those fools out the door. And then the hostess, who had seemed like such a bitch and then sacrificed herself. It was a damn near perfect psychodrama. Oh, and then there was Rose on the monitor for just a moment. I know you've already seen through the end of the season and I'm a little behind, but, Jeez, this show just gets better and better.

Speaking of pitching fools out the door.... Re: this story--they just don't know what they're missing. Trufax!

OMFG!!!!

wasn't midnight amazing? this is one of my fav eps EVER. i was SO FREAKING impressed with david tennant and leslie sharp (sky). it reminded me of an old twilight zone or something because there weren't really any special effects, it was all psychodrama. and so. damn. creepy.

and dude, the season just keeps getting better!!!! *twirls*

i'm so glad you liked this ep! *smishes you*

:D :D :D

i can't imagine how long it took to get the timing right with all of that. O.o

*smooch*

p.s. and this ep is a brilliant example of why the doctor needs a companion.

Random encouragement from a stranger anonymous July 13 2008, 21:18:26 UTC
I'm thoroughly enjoying this. Love the characterizations, the dialogue, and the slow buildup of suspense. River is a fantastic addition. Her interaction with the Doctor is wonderful.

These two 'verses belong together; three Big Damn Heroes with the same mission but very different outlooks. I've always loved the idea of the Doctor meeting Sam & Dean. (In my head, Dean annoys the Doctor by consistently referring to him as "Doc." Maybe that's why I find the "Captain" thing so funny.)

Thanks for this, and please give us more!

Oh wow! And also, yikes, because how could I miss an update of this awesome 'verse. (Okay, how? I took off my LJ!stalker!hat and put on my gamer!girl goggles. Wrath of Kane is consuming my life! Waaah!)

I love this quiet moment with the Doctor and River. It's really wonderful to see them just being together. They're so similar, like they're the common endpoints approached from opposite sides. Both of them almost human, wanting to be human, falling just short.

And that may not be a popular view, especially for fans of the Doctor... but he really does want to be human. Else, why does he keep coming back, keep loving us and saving us from ourselves? But he can't so he does the next best thing. He makes us a little more like himself.

Anyway... I also love this quiet little moment between Rose and fake!PapaTyler. And that final line? Poignant, especially from what we learn in the last 3 DW episodes. And that's all I'm gonna say on the subject because, yeah, still can not talk about episode 13 without crying. Well, whining ( ... )

It's an update? I fail at gamer terms... bad gamer!girl. Bad. Of the third Command & Conquer. And it's consuming my life! It's become my life. Also, I may hate my life now, just a little. It's sad.

i think he just likes humans in general. he has lots of good memories on earth and after gallifrey was destroyed, earth (and rose) became his secondary home.

Well, far be it for me to skew your vision of the Doctor, because I love how you write him... but, yeah, I have to disagree. But I won't bore you with my reasons, because I started watching second season of the New Doctor, and I may not have the entire history.

all i can say is, i realllly hope donna comes back at some point. and now i'm going to add an epilogue to this fic because i HAVE to have a bit of donna nowI think I love Donna more than the Doctor now. Seriously, I'd watch the Doctor!Donna show. Doctor Do. You hear that RTD? I defy you! Also, DO IT! Also, also? Donna and River? With the snark and "I can kill ( ... )

Every time I read a chapter of this story, I think "I like this one the best" and then I go and read the next one, and I don't know how you manage to make me love the next one more. You've got some crazy talent, hon :D ( ... )
