End of the month check in

May 31, 2020 19:04

Hello folks. I knew not posting the meme would make me go quiet, so I've decided to go for it next month. I can already tell some of the questions are going to be super covid-ironic. But then that's quite interesting in itself.

I'm still okay. Quite good in many ways, I've got new routines (Sunday walks) and cheering activities, and plenty of busy ( Read more... )

The questions look a lot more fun than May's were, so I think I may do it as well. But as you so, some of them will have a lot of 'covid context!'.

I know I get to see you elsewhere, but it's nice to see you over here, too. Keep well hon.

The UK government, well the English government in this context, just seem determined to relax things - I am sure there is a link between it and the Cummings affair. Perhaps that they know people are going to not bother sticking to tight rules as he has shown that they are clearly more a vague guideline, but if there are no longer strict rules then people doing stupid things can't be blamed on the example Cummings set. Perhaps they are just relaxing things to draw attention away from him...

And as for deciding at 11.oopm that people who had been told to stay in until the end of June might as well just go out with everyone else - it defies logic.

I think it's actually worse - they said a few weeks ago they would loosen on 1 June if things went well, and they haven't. But they are determined to do it anyway, presumably to suggest things are in fact going well. And yes, the Cummings thing doesn't help communications. But I'd love to know who is running comms on this, because they are doing it *so* badly. Messaging poorly, timing it horribly, using the wrong channels. Professionally speaking, it's a mess. As far as a public health crisis goes, it's disastrous.

I'm afraid our country is also opening too soon, and am waiting to see where we stand a few weeks from now before I change my ways very much. As I'm sure you know, we have other nightmare stuff going on right now....

Are those the June questions? I hope so. I copied them. LOL

Public transport is going to be a problem for me for quite a long time I think - especially the tube.

Personally I think we are back to the herd immunity phase as they want to stop borrowing money and get the economy back up and running (and sod the plebs).

I'm beyond angry with what is happening right now, I'm just utterly depressed. These new 'measures' will destroy everything that has been done in the past few weeks and while horse racing resumes I still can't properly spend time with my boyfriend. I'm just so tired of this shitshow.
