The stories at that link read like the local newscasts here in Idaho. Seriously, our local TV news once ran a 5 minute story about the opening of a thrift shop. I wish I was kidding. A 30 minute newscast, commercials included, and 5 of those minutes were about the opening of a darn thrift shop!

Heh. One of these is the South London Press, which covers about a million people and includes areas where there is quite bad gang culture (not so very far from me, especially in a former flat). It's quite nice to see they have space on their boards for an OAP and his extra long courgettes!

'Swan shot on Exeter canal' was 10 minutes on the evening news. Granted, a nasty thing to happen. But a week later, 'Bereaved swan making a new life for itself' was the lead.

Ah, I'm sure you'll work it out.

ETA: Some of those newspaper headlines are hilarious. Nice to see the local paper in B'ham has some perspective on the Pope resigning. The man with the suspicious Amazon package is ridiculous.

I have about 15 possible answers and none seems to be right. Ach.
