now, i don't like to to do the soapbox thing very often, or if at all. i have enough drama at work and at home and with close friends to not have to deal with drama amongst my online friends, or my online play areas like livejournal

it's just the way i've felt for ages, and i think i had to just get it out there. i mean, i realize these ideas aren't always the easiest to put in place. but i believe they make a ton of difference. and like i said, it starts with small steps. small steps. :)

Found you through meta-fandom and I usually don't comment on these things, but...

This was an incredibly good and timely post for me to come across since I've recently started crawling out of a not-so-good time. One in which I allowed someone to take my space and my confidence away. And this? Is just the perfect reminder of why I am on lj and why I need to reclaim it just for me. So.. thanks.

aww thank ya darlin. i don't usually feel up to soapboxing but this is something that i honestly feel, and i wanted to share it with everyone.

i'm happy that it's helped remind you about the importance of taking our space for ourselves and keeping our confidence. it's easy to have it taken away from you, just as you said. i've been in the same situations before, and once you've learned from it... it makes loads of difference in the way you enjoy your space.

i hope things look up for you, everyone deserves happiness! :D
