Yay new design! How exciting!

When you say recoding 170 pages -- are yours all straight HTML? Did you have to edit them all by hand? Were you able to work any CSS magic to save time?

Eheheh yeah. That's still all html coded in notepad. That must be terrible to hear I know. ^_^;; I haven't had the time/inclination to teach myself CSS yet (learned/self-taught html in high school). This update should hold me for awhile and hopefully I'll know new coding tricks to just rebuild the whole thing next time I need to.

This time around I just figured out my updated clean code on a couple pages to test it then copy-and-pasted old file content into new file layout in as streamlined a fashion as I could get. It only took a few hours spaced out over 3 or so days which surprised me. I'd done a better job keeping my code organized than I had thought.

Hee -- well crashrun.org and the static parts of FFF are straight-up HTML. If either site had 170 pages, I'd do something more dynamic :P

This is true. Universflux didn't start out having nearly so many pages though - its amazing what you can add in 3 and a half years of coding!

Doing something dynamic at this point would involve a lot of learning, swearing, and recoding of the entire site from scratch. Most of the changes I made for this were just stylistic and so that it'll be easier to do minor changes in future without having to do this again. (It still kinda looks like the old site, but different)
