Ouch, we got ripped apart in the Brandeis school paper. Well, any publicity, right? Especially since the Tech has their stupid vendetta going and won't review us ( Read more... )

Was it opening night that Kenny fell? If so, they saw the show with the most tech issues. It's weird they didn't quote the lines right, and instead gave lamer versions:

“I bet you didn’t know I was right-handed!” and “I guess you’re a lefty now!”

Huh?

Reviews like that just make the reviewer look like a sour jerk who had too big a stick up his you-know-what to enjoy anything. :-)

maybe you can take the "surplus of money" you all supposedly have and buy the author a sense of humor. I think we were SUPPOSED to see the stage hands throwing debris..... did they REALLY want you guys to use the force?!

Anyhoot, it was good to see you for 30 seconds or so, and i'll see more of you over thanksgiving i suppose. Maybe on tuesday we can check out the exhibit at the museum (or not since i know you work there and don't necesarily want to be ther emore than you have to).

We'll figure something out.

Okay, I can buy the fact that this guy must have seen the show on a bad night - those do happen sometimes. But obviously he just doesn't "get it". At least he certainly doesn't get the concept of filk. *sigh* Fortunately the masses of loudly laughing audience members I sat with during my viewings do get it.

I agree with what someone else has already said - it's difficult to take seriously a reviewer who can't even quote the lines correctly. ; )

Gee, sour grapes much? However, I figured out the tech throwing Vader's "force-thrown" debris was visible on purpose, and frankly I don't give the guy much credit for knowing his genre when he completely misses the "Princess Bride" "I am not left-handed" line. And "so familiar"? A couple of the songs, yeah, are very familar, but a lot?

I do agree about some sound problems. I basically never heard what the Emperor was saying when there was music on, and a couple times mikes cut in and out, but overall, gimme a break. The show was great. I mean, dude, it's MIT, not Julliard. They aren't going to build a Broadway-quality set. The performances were pretty damn good.

And as for Nori, C-3PO approves, so whatever, Brandeis guy.
