I've heard that people like that can increase in violence as they progress along, but that does seem a rather sudden change. And it's not following the multiple attack pattern from the first case either.

I can't say it's really my specialty either. I suppose it's too much to ask to have one serial killer instead of several running amok at once. The details haven't come across my desk yet, but they'd probably go to Intel before Special Assault.

I would hesitate to connect the recent attack to the stabbings. This murder had a much more ritualized aspect.

The possibility cannot be ruled out completely of course.

Captain Holly and I were thinking something similar. Nor to ruling out a connection to the stoning attacks either, although we really don't have anything concrete linking any of these together at this point.

Unfortunately, in a city as large and chaotic as this, we could have thousands of murderers, and no way to begin to link them.

It's rather daunting, but if links do exist it's up to us to dig them up. Although perhaps more in regards to the poisoning case which definitely had more than one person behind it. Either way, it's just something to keep in mind while investigating.
