Anders comes bounding down the hall after his sociology class and a quick workout and shower, and bangs enthusiastically on his best friend's door. "Dude, you in there? Open up! I haven't talked to you in days!"

"Dude! There you are!" Anders apparently still has energy to spare, since he comes bounding into the room and bounces up and down on his toes even after he screeches to a halt. "Um, what's with the pacing?"

Because it wouldn't due to look like a dork and show up early. Or look like a jerk and show up late.

Xander ignores - mostly- the voice that tells him as he knocks on the door to 227 that there's really no way to avoid the first one, no matter when he got here.
