Red is the color petticoat most often mentioned in Elizabethan wills. So I have a bunch of red petticoats too. Plus, there's the "Gone with the Wind" panache of a red petticoat- you can't go wrong! :)

*laughs* I think Gone with the Wind is the reason why when I think petticoat, I always think "red." Mammy and her red petticoat. =)

And personally, I think red is the most sensible/practical color for hiding the inevitable "accidents" one has when Aunt Flo shows up.
