Some people just don't get it

Watching Paul Ryan on Face the Nation talking about health care. He thinks the most important issue here is not forcing people to buy something they don't want. I know there are a few fringey people out there who do not want to buy health insurance, but the VAST majority of people I know WANT health insurance, they just can't afford it. The ( Read more... )

Too bad we can't set it up so that the members of Congress would have to use the same Health care system that we do instead of their gold-plated Rolls Royce setup. Of course if they piss off enough people they won't get re-elected and then they'll be able to get an up-close and personal look at health care in America these days.

It doesn't matter. They can afford whatever they want. The problem is none of them have ever had to make the choice between food or heat, or paying the mortgage or buying health insurance. Well, I think I read there was one female representative who used to be so poor she was on welfare. But there are way too many millionaires in Congress.
