Are dogs ticklish?

Tonight my massage therapist (not my usual masseuse) was trying to strike up a conversation. He asked if I had pets? And we ended up talking about dogs (he has a dog) and cats (while I don't currently have a cat, I've had them most of my life) for most of the hour. We were talking about clipping nails, and he said that his dog won't let him touch
