So interesting to follow Brian's thought process in this one, Randall. I was relieved to see some of the old Brian still alive and kicking, and his thoughts on men vs. man rang so true to his character during that time frame. He and Eric are lovers but also friends in a way and I'm enjoying his interaction with someone in that capacity other than Mikey.
I loved Eric advising everyone matters of the heart -- Brian, Sookie. LOL. We got to see his tough and tender sides in this chapter and gotta say, he looks good from every angle.
So cute that Eric wanted to show off for Brian. Probably a good thing that it made Brian stop and think what he is dealing with here. Eric's reply to his question was delightful. I shouldn't think Brian found it very comforting.
"What were you like before you became a vampire?”
“I was a Viking,”
And what he lovely Viking he must have been :)
Looking forward to the next chapter !
Hugs, woodles and howls from the deep, dark woods,
Just showing off for my friend, lol. Even ancient vampires are not immune to the need to show off. Can't wait to see what they are going to get up to in NO.
I think Eric gets that Brian doesn't want to die or become a vampire. Yes he is aware of Brian's vanity of staying young and beautiful but not at the expense of losing his life to become a vampire and that equally intrigue him, cause I highly doubt Eric has had someone who is attracted and intrigued at the same time that doesn't want to become like him at any point.
Eric's point to Brian about it will only be a matter of time before he meets someone that he cannot deny his feelings for also stems from Eric own distancing from love until Sookie, although other would say what about Godric which to me had that undertone of hero worship since he created him and taught him about the next phase of his life after his frenzy to avenge his family. Eric never thought that he would be able to get this type of reaction from anyone again until he met Sookie and it's not all physical and fairy blood he really cares for her.
Amazing chapter. I wish Brian would have asked Eric what he meant by "human, mostly".
Thanks, and I agree he cares for her, at least in the show, and I don't get why Sookie doesn't see that. When Eric said he was the only one who never gave up on her, it was true. Including bill!!! Anyway, this is a different world, I guess.
SERIOUSLY, ALWAYS YOUNG AND BEAUTIFULmdlawSeptember 19 2012, 01:20:17 UTC
Well, at least Brian is thinking about the chances he's taking. I know he always took chances, but he never thought he could be a victim. He could not though. And Eric, showing off for a human he already has; he's in pretty deep too. m :)
