Happy Meal toys could be banned in Santa Clara County

As someone who has a large collection of Happy Meal toys, I just want to say "Screw you, Santa Clara politicians! And screw you, too, Nanny State!". Honestly, was neutering Cookie Monster not enough for you!?

I had a lot of respect for Carl Macek and part of me wants to attend his public memorial in Sherman Oaks this weekend. Why the hell is this being done!? 98% of all Twitter posts consist of boring attention whores chronicling what they ate for dinner and how much they love/hate a particular celebrity (and doing so with atrocious grammar). According to ANN, some director named Wolfgang Petersen is making a live-action, American version of Satoshi Kon's awesome animated film, Paprika.

....WHY!? Paprika is one of those movies that is tailor made for the medium of animation. Any live-action adaption is going to be chock full of (expensive) CGI anyway, so why not just animate the whole ( Read more... )
