I've never heard it before. It's a good story. The end is very cute and quotable :)

The real end of the story is not quite so cliche. I kissed him, briefly and innocently with a, "Well, since we were both thinking about it." He kissed me...less briefly and not quite as chastely. I broke away with, 'What are we doing?!" There was discussion about possible options, I ranted against friends with benefits, and we decided to "trial date" without broadcasting a relationship status and if it didn't work out, know that we'd gained a new friend. As an afterthought I added, "Oh wait! Before we do that, what are your beliefs about God?"
For awhile friends and I joked that this series of questions should be the model for beginning any relationship:
1. Do you want to kiss me?
2. What are your intentions?
3. What are your in-depth theological views?

I like both versions. If people honestly answered those three questions at the beginning of a relationship, they could avoid a lot of misunderstandings.

I very much enjoyed reading your story, even if I have heard it before. Lately, I've been writing down all the moments like this from my life that I can remember.

Glad you enjoyed it! ^_^ That's why I've never changed my lj. I have so many stories from 2004 through now at my fingertips. Now I want to go and read what went up in my lj right after Dominique and I started dating...although it may not be much, since we didn't tell people for awhile.
