Hi, all! As we approach the Inauguration (*shudders*), I thought I'd post these YouTube videos for comparison purposes. If JFK isn't your guy, I'm sure you can find plenty of Inaugural speeches and pageantry for other Presidents, but if you stick with me, here are some random thoughts:

I feel like I'm living in an episode of the Twilight Zone...how did we EVER get from JFK, Obama, and (for comparative purposes, presidents I didn't really care for) the Bushes, to what we have coming on Friday?!?!?

This just does not seem real. I keep saying to myself, "It's only 4 years, it's only 4 years..." (because if he's re-elected, I'm going to just shoot myself!)

That's exactly what I was thinking!!! It's like we woke up in this strange, other-dimensional world or a comics Elseworld where the unthinkable happened. I despised Dubya (thought he was an empty-headed frat boy), but he doesn't come off too badly compared to Trump. When that's the case , you know you're in trouble!

I think Trump's unfitness for office is partially fueling the anti-Trump angst. You were wary of guys like Dubya and Reagan, but with Trump you KNOW he's unfit!

At least with Reagan you hadn't realized how wacky things would get, and he seemed relatively sane at the start. This time we knew from day one That Man was horrible, and it only got worse.

Exactly! We knew he was during the campaign and he STILL got voted in!

Little consolation to Hillary, but she did the popular vote. Funny how both times that happened in the modern era (popular vote winner loses Electoral College), it was the Democratic candidate who lost.
