I fully encourage anyone who is traveling to stay in a Hostel. They're super-cheap and are full of really interesting people. I stayed in the Santa Barbara Tourist Hostel last night. How in the world did you get way out there? Your uncle Rob and cousin Becky are not that far from you in San Diego. What is the next stop on your itinerary and why? Grandpa V.

The short of it is:
through the really intense theater job I had this summer (The American Dance Festival), I met some absolutely amazing people. Fascinating people! After talking to one (Joanna) about travel, I realized that I had the time, money, and desire to go Somewhere in the time between ADF and school. Since I was talking to her, I asked if I could just follow her back to Santa Barbara and hang with her for a few days. My trip now includes hanging out here until tomorrow, going to a place called mammoth tomorrow until Wednesday, then back here and maybe to LA/Hollywood to visit another ADF friend for a day, then down to San Diego to hang out with Becky and Uncle Rob Friday evening until I have to leave Sunday evening.

The really short of it is: I'm here because I can be. Yay!

dude i just got back from a hostel in san francisco, and it was pretty awesome. I met a nice girl named marta from spain, and a ton of germans (they seem to do more traveling than staying in their own country).
