Dec 09, 2009 22:55

This is basically summarizing my thoughts on why Jim does this and that and it outlines his life up to the Enterprise (and a bit on Delta Vega too). I’ve also added some stuff about the Reboot!Verse and how it’s different from the TOS!Verse. Also, this essay might be retconned at a moment's notice WHAT WILL THE NEW MOVIE BRIIIIIIING. This was a very interesting read. ♥ I agree that Kirk didn't play chess, AND UNLESS CANON SAYS OTHERWISE I'M STICKING WITH THAT. We probably should do that chess post/thingy at some point, now that I remember.

Outside that. I pretty much agree with everything, I will always adore your interpretation of Kirk for that reason. Especially the Delta Vega part. I wrote 'party' the first time, I'm still sleepy.

He was a rebel! A punk! He probably had ridiculously stereotypical high-school views. He wasn't the golden boy that KirkPrime was. Not to say he's less smart, just that his attentions... deviated a lot.

. . . Yeah, that's the best way to put it. He can appreciate the beauty of chess with Spock.

THAT TOO. I mean, it doesn't excuse him, but I think he does know Gaila better than his ...other flings. Because they're both...hookers.

I really, really love reboot!Verse. I mean, there's not a lot of strong canon detail and Kirk's development isn't linear the way Spock's was in the movie. Which made him all the more interesting to me and I wanted to hash it out!! And... I probably had a lot more to say, but this is just a timeline reference-thingy...
