I saw Inception for my b’day weekend before last and was instantly won over. I’m also dying to see it again because it was so intricately plotted and overwhelming and I was trying to figure out a lot of the story along the way so I missed a bit in the process, but one thing I really really want to know.

I suppose it’s good in a way- I mean, would I have preferred to be told definitely that it was all real? Yes, sure. But it’d’ve wrecked the movie for me if it had gone the other way and we got confirmation that it was all a dream. So I guess this is the best of both worlds! It lets people decide what suits them better, so those who prefer a happy ending can see it that way, or those who are content to examine different layers of reality and psychology and all can put a different spin on it and their theory is just as valid. YMMV!
My favorite interpretation is that the entire movie was a dreamMy problem is that I’m a die-hard shipper so I can’t see it that way. I mean, I get where you’re coming from, especially the psychological angle, and it is a fascinating train of speculation, but to invalidate my ship…I can’t do it! Also, I know the kids look the same like in the dream but for some reason that didn't bother me - I mean he spends his working hours in other's dreams where time is relative, so emotionally he could have spent a large amount of time there but in reality not so much - or it's just wishful thinking on my part...
I do hope it wasn't all a dream - I mean just looking at all the others on the plane after they woke... that was some pretty powerful stuff...

He could’ve spent vast hours working away and trying to get favors from people and make a deal to find his way back home, but in reality, it wouldn’t have taken as long.
