Rating: PG for this chapter, may go up in next installements.
Summary: Eunhyuk is a photography student, Kangin breaks his camera, no, love is not in the air. AU!
Warnings: AU, weird Eunhyuk, cool Kangin. crack? bad language? violence towards cameras?
A/N: I didn't thought it was going to end being multi chaptered, but this chapter took me two days and I had so much fun writing it that I wanted to share it. I promise next part will be up soon if you want it to. Enjoy and comment :3

This one goes topanaramic because she wanted some Kanghyuk, I hope you like it girl :3

He cared for his camera more than he did for his own body; it was somehow an acquired habit for all photographers and photography students he believed. Sungmin got really angry when someone (even Shindong) tried to touch his camera, and an angry Sungmin meant angry stares that could kill people, also it made Shindong laugh and keep annoying the other, but Shindong was weird and no one could stay angry a long time with him anyway. It was only natural, he thought, that as a photographer, the camera became a part of oneself, and as such one would feel obliged to take care of it.

Also, cameras were fucking expensive.

He remembered how one of his teachers gave an approving nod to him when he tripped and preferred an epic and dirty landing on his face than damaging the camera. His mother kicked him later for being a "careless camera obsessed asshole that could break a teeth or worse." he didn't care, his camera was fine, his face could heal with time.

Yes, the camera was an important tool, an important friend even, it was the only company he needed when he was working. When he saw the results that came from it; beautiful or ugly images, he felt happiness; it was a proof of what he was doing, of what he loved the most. And his camera was the one that made all that possible.

So when he saw how that precious tool turned into a bunch of pieces he felt how he himself did (in a subconscious and totally metaphorical way, of course) exactly the same.

Oh God, why do you hate artists so much?

“Oh man, are you ok?”

…All his work.

“That dude was just driving like crazy!”

…His dreams.

“And you were walking really slowly, and well I had to use some force.”

…Maybe if he sold his kidney he could buy a new camera.

“Uh… hello?”

…He could also sell the lung that her sister was going to punch out of his mouth when he had to tell her.

“Are you deaf or something?”

“…mory...”

“Huh?”

“Where is the… oh God, I’m so dead.” He started looking at the floor frantically without even giving a look at the person at his side.

“No, wait, you WERE going to be SO dead thirty second ago, now you are SO alive, and all’s thanks to me, so start being thankful, boy.”

“My camera is broken…” Was the only answer from Hyukjae who was scanning the floor carefully, finally he found it “it’s not broken…. I can do something… I can save myself; I can hold the bloodbath for a month.”

“Do you know that you look extremely creepy doing that?” After putting the memory card on his pocket, and saying his last prayers for his camera, Hyukjae finally looked at the guy (with all the intention of kicking his ass, or yelling or doing something as violent, maybe throwing him a children.)

“Oh God you’re huge.”

“What?”

“Nothing. Look, I don’t know what happened but my camera is broken, can't you just go and let me mourn it?”

“No.”

“What? Why?”

“Because that’s stupid.”

No, you are stupid. He could say that, but he was very much aware that this guy was big, and visibly strong, while he was… well, not too big, and a self proclaimed pacifist (or a coward, like Sungmin liked to put it). So if he started a confrontation, he would be dead before his sister could kill him.

“And what do you mean you don’t know what happened?” Hyukjae just shrugged.

“I was walking, then I was on the floor, with my camera turned into the most terrifying lego ever, and then you were telling me something about death and life, and being thankful.”

The other guy looked at him like he sprouted horns, or turned green; not that he wasn’t used to those looks, anyway.

“Look, you were walking really slowly, and there was this crazy biker, that decided to be an asshole and run like crazy on a populated zone, and almost ran you over, and I had to push you so to save you for being street decoration, ugly, bloody and creepy street decoration.”

Hyukjae didn’t say anything for a while.

“So that’s why I said you should thank me” ended the guy with a cocky smile.

“So you broke my camera…”

“What?”

“YOU broke MY camera.”

“What the hell? I saved you life you idiot, I’m sorry your camera broke, but I’m not going to be sorry for saving your life.”

“Are you going to hit me?”

“What?”

“Do you say ‘what?’ to everything?”

“You say weird things, so yeah. And what the hell do you mean with that other question?”

“Well, you look like the type, big and strong, and you’re obviously angry at me for mourning my lost camera and not thanking you for killing it…”

“Saving your life.”

“By killing my camera. And stop looking me like I’m some sort of freak.” Kangin snorted.

“You are a total freak.”

He was going to retort (by going away) when his cellphone started to vibrate on his pocket, Hyukjae wondered why his stupid cellphone was intact while his camera turned into the material of his nightmares.

“Yes?”

“Why do you sound like something really bad happened?” Said a voice on the other side, Sungmin always had the worst timing to call him, the other guy was just staring at Hyukjae like he had offended him in the worst way.

“Because something really bad happened, hyung” he said feeling like crying, well, he alway was a crybaby, and after his psychotic breakdown from earlier, the reality of what happened finally got to him.

“Aw come on, Hyukie, nothing THAT bad could have happened, it’s not like your camera broke.” Hyukjae let a soft whimper go out “Oh my God
Hyukjae your camera DID broke.” He heard a lot of noise and another voice, a quick conversation and a loud gasp.

“WHO DID IT AND HOW DO YOU WANT HIM/HER IT COOKED”

“It was kind of my fault Shindong-hyung, he saved my life.” Hyukjae wasn’t stupid; he knew that the guy had good intentions. He wasn’t going to let him look like a bastard when he wasn’t (well at least not fot those reasons), also he didn’t want Shindong to kill people. “I still have the memory card from the camera, so I can work with the photos I had there, it’ll give me time to get a job to buy another camera or something.” He said with little conviction.

“Do you want us to go to your house and cheer you up? Maybe we can think about something together.”

“Well I… HEY WHAT THE FUCK” The guy (because that was how he started calling him) took his phone and cut the call with an annoyed look on his face all the time.

“I hate when people interrupts me.” Hyukjae could only give him the most indignant look he could make out with his eyes kind of watery, and his cheek hurting, why was his cheek hurting? “Also I need you to come with me; we need to take a look at those wounds.”

“Wha… wounds?” He finally looked at himself, his pants were torn and his legs were bleeding a little, his elbow was scrapped and also bleeding, only now he noticed that his whole body was hurting like a bitch.

“Come with me, my family’s clinic is close” The other said while taking Hyukjae by the arm and dragging him.

Could his day turn even worse?

“Oh by the way, my dad’s not in the clinic today, so I’ll have to treat you, and since I kind of hate you right now, I'll make sure it hurts."

Oh God, why do you hate artists so much?
