Snowed out

I'm finally home from 33 hours in the hospital! I was on duty in the Cardiology Intensive Unit from 8 A.M. on Sunday morning to the same time this morning. It was interesting and not too busy, and I managed to sleep some during the night ( Read more... )

No, no fun at all! And I thought I had had a bad day!

It's been snowing a lot here too, and it must be freakishly cold because my car wouldn't even start this afternoon. Something yellow or orange kept flashing at him and the trip computer warned me to shut the engine off (I am currently wondering if the car would have exploded, had I not heeded his command...).

I really hope you get to sleep tonight! It sounds like you deserve a good night's sleep!

Snow's pretty cool when you're ready for it. Otherwise, when roads are blocked … not so fun (and you'd THINK a city that hosted the winter Olympics would know how to deal with it).

I've never been in snow where it wasn't fun. Perhaps if I stayed in a snowy place for longer than a day, I'd know. XD (LOL!)

My roommate's mom is an ICU nurse, and she shares you frustration with those types of surgeons. The snow looked like that here about a week ago, of course the 5 days over the last two weeks that they forecast snow we got nothing, and then got blizzard conditions and snow at the rate of 4 inches/hour on the day that was predicted to be clear. As per usual, it was snowy and icy when I realized that I have lost my ice scraper, along with apparently everyone else in a 60 mile radius as every store in town was sold out.

Glad you managed to get some rest.

Oh, that's tough without an ice scraper. I had one, not that it was much use, since there was no ice. I can't really imagine how to manage without one!
