First day off

May 20, 2006 22:08

It's been a great vacation so far. Asteria and I get along like we've known each other for years. (Good thing, since we have. (: ) Weather wasn't too nice but we still went for a good long walk. I hadn't realized that so many trees and birds were different in England than they are here. (Case in point.) We also caught a museum and had dinner ( Read more... )

The good news about Rynn is she said she won't eat our limbs if we tried anything!

Woohoo! But she didn't say anything about letting us stay not-on-fire...

XD I told Psyko if you put your arm around her, she'd just grip it and put it back on your side of the personal space.

Might leave with a hand-print burn, though.

Darnit, not again! Maybe Kittie has the right idea after all. *crosses out Rynnay and writes in Keeso*

Okay, you can stop it now.

Tagged? Why, thanks Boo! I have yet another opportunity of mentally scarring my readers ;)

And I'm so happy to see you too are getting along so well: she's a wonderful person, after all ;). I was sure you would meet up with her on Friday, but it's still ok: what did you guys do beside going to the museum? Because a big city like Ottawa has so many things to do, so many places to wander about (whenever I visit a city, the first thing I do is to go to the museums, natural parks or archeological places like ruins and such. Living in a country like Perú gives you lots of opportunities to do those things). And regarding that overnight train to Halifax (Asteria told me a while ago about it)... I recommend buying some cards or a board game... or perhaps this's a chance of dusting your old Magic the Gathering cards off and teach her how to play! I used to ADORE playing Magic and had a more or less good Soldiers deck (even though my brother would always end up pwning me with his Goblin deck ( ... )

She is indeed a wonderful person. (: I'm honoured to be spending time with her. She came over here first and we petted Jasmine and chatted and stuff. Then we took Jaz to the boarding place and went for lunch. We went for a good long walk through the nearest park, that took us all the way to the nearest major bus stop (a few kilometres away). That's when we caught the bus to the Museum of Nature. We stayed there until closing, and just wandered the streets of Ottawa until we were hungry for Ben Ben's. (: You're right, there is a lot to see here, and I'm sure there's a lot to see in Lima, too. (And in the city in Argentina you're visiting for the summer -- whose name I forget. ^_ ( ... )

Sounds definitely cool man! Seems you two are having a great time. And have you thought of introducing her to some of your friends? Perhaps a night out would be very relaxing as well, but if your city has good museums, I recommend visiting them all first =) (and Lima doesn't have THAT much to see tourist-wise; that's why most tourists leave for Cusco after a day or two. And Buenos Aires has LOTS and lots to see, so I won't get bored ;). Summer?! JA! You say that because you north-hemispherers are enjoying it now: I'll be stuck with a very rough winter)

And not much into games? AAwwww... I was sure she would feel tempted to learn it! Too bad, because with such a long trip games and stuff are very necessary... and what's gin? (I know the word refers to a drink, but I'm sure you didn't mean that!). I recommend chess, though.

And you have a point there... and after spending some time with Asteria, you'll be completely immune to all types of evilness! ;)

One of my friends hinted that he wanted to meet her when I mentioned her, but she and I have been too busy just by ourselves for me to even think of that. Today we caught another museum, went out into Gatineau Park, and even went bowling! We've been having a great time, and chatting a lot. And if I was able to get her into bowling, I may be able to turn her onto cribbage, or at least gin. (:

Gin is also the name of a card game. It's short for gin rummy, a fairly popular two-player game. I wouldn't mind getting her into Euchre, but you need four players for that.

Yep, she's here in Canada! Started out in Toronto, came here to Ottawa, and then I'm following her to Montreal and Halifax. It's been great fun so far, and pretty laid back. We've checked out a few museums, and mostly just walked around seeing the sights. And chatting a lot.

Yep, as far as I know, just for sightseeing. She's enjoyed her time in Toronto and in Ottawa, and I'm sure that our next destination will be fun too. I'm excited, I'm getting a bit nervous. (:
