I think it's been a watershed kind of week. Earlier this week I made what was, for me, a really important locked post about some issues that I've been struggling with my whole life. I can't agree more. I am writing an introduction to an edition of Restoration poetry that I have put together as my thesis, and in 300 years no other woman has ever edited and put out an edition of these poems. I intend to be the first, and it's about damn time. I've also placed an emphasis on gender and agency and how they play out in the poems because I want people to think about that.
I think the best thing you can do not just for yourself, but for society at large is to STOP being what some ambiguous "they" want you to be, and just be yourself. I've come to the conclusion that sometimes the only way you're going to get these things is stop waiting and just do it.

PS. I love to read about science as well. My passion is genetics, but I took physics to cover my breadth requirement in Uni, and I've since added a lot of physics texts to my amazon wish list. Please tell me if you read any GOOD ones.
