This weekend Maya, John and I went to see Hostel II. It wasn't as good as the first which, for a lot of people, doesn't say much but I liked few themes in the first one. The glib abundance of nudity and sex in the first half of the film only to be matched in blank honesty by brutal torture I thought was a great send up of our culture's expectations
