Giving Up Meditation For Lent

My only Lenten promise to myself was that i would increase my meditation -- particularly around the theme of compassion.  It didn't happen and now Lent is concluded, we are four weeks into Easter, and we will soon be back in "ordinary time."  But then, i am always in ordinary time; but then i am never in ordinary time.

I am kind of familiar with your feelings about practicing connecting with the "four immeasurable minds of love." I began last fall by practicing relaxation twice every day, and it really helped reduce my anxiety. But I just quit at some point because I couldn't justify spending the time, or something like that.

Which language are the original terms for the four immeasurables from? I just like the words :)

Well they are Buddhist concepts, so they are probably Sanskrit, or Pali, or some other "north Indian" language. What language did the Buddha teach in? I don't know.
