Me too! I did the same thing in 2003, too--I just winged it. I did finish, and it wasn't too bad, but I'd like to rewrite it because I love the character and the world, and I'm better now. (And incidentally, that character's name was Grey with an e, just like in your title!)

Bellwether looks really fun. Tundra zombies?

Ooh. I really, really like the idea of people turning to stone when they die and the aliveness of the land.

And I truly enjoyed the world of Grey Ash Woman. I still remember how reading the first chapter made me feel.

I'm almost back to fighting form now, so if you ever need another pair of eyes...
