Well, I really love the idea and the execution.

I like the touch of having the cat's tail behind the baby and I like the way the baby has a thought bubble but the cat is actually "speaking."

Today was minouette's baby shower and this was part of the gift ;) I thought it would be cute to have them curled up together, like foxes in a den or something, and then the thought bubbles just happened. Of course Minouette speaks - she's a very opinionated cat :)

This is excellent! I've been working with a lot of people who give up their cats after they have a baby and with cats that are being euth'd at the shelter because of "new baby" and it's a very tough and sensitive issue. This drawing means a lot to me!

The ladies at the baby shower I attended said that sending someone home from the hospital with something that has the newborn's scent on it immediately, and placing it in the nursery, gives a chance for a cat to adjust to a new individual entering their space BEFORE baby comes home. That said, some pets just never accept it and then, hopefully, you have a friend or relative willing to take your cat or dog. For example, my parents had a dog when I came along and he was fine with me until I started crawling. He tried to eat me, or something, so Mum and Dad had to put him down. Then, the next year they got a puppy and he grew up with us so there was no issue.

Minouette's an older cat - I'm sure that she'll be fine when the bambino arrives ;)
