Was in London over the weekend....

a few recommendations:

The Kerala is one of the finest Indian restaurants I've ever visited. Doesn't look much from the outside, but the welcome you get is absolutely genuine, it's comfortable enough inside, and the food is fantastic - really superb Southern Indian cooking, streets away from usual curryhouse ( Read more... )

However, the Waterstones in Piccadilly has a cocktail bar. That does Blueberry Gin & Tonic.

Yum. I had to turn off one-click ordering on Amazon because I was making large (£100+) orders after crawling home from the pub, so on the whole I think mixing booze and books in the same place is Not A Good Idea.

(Besides, one should only shop for books in Hatchards in that part of town. A gentleman would not be seen buying his anonymously-authored Victorian S&M grumble books anywhere else, surely? ;) )
