These last few days have been busy times! And you get to hear about them :P

Wednesday was AWESOME EPIC FUN. Train to brum at midday-ish, met Meg and went to Weatherspoons for lunch. Never been there before but it was a) yummy and b) surprisingly cheap. Talked lots about university and tattoos and stuff. Also I saw one of the most hilarious things ( Read more... )

Hello. :) Have you considered some Metric songs for your band? Going by the other songs you've listed I think it would work. You probably know them but if you don't look up Combat Baby. Or Maps by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

Ah good call, I really like Metric. I'll definitely suggest that.

And you're on my wavelength - we've actually already done a bit of work on Maps ;) And then... forgotten we started it :P We're very organised band!

Lol, none of the greats were organised!! Disorganisation often accompanies brilliance. Or so I keep telling myself, anyway. I saw the Yeah Yeah Yeahs at Oxegen this year and they did an acoustic version of Maps. It sounded beautiful.

Do some Regina, silly billy. There's a version of Samson on youtube with a guitar and it sounds a bit rubbish but like it ~could~ work with the right people doing it (and you and Anton are Very Much the Right People to do it). Kings of Leon, too, because you don't have to do a proper cover, you can do stuff with it. What you really ought to do is take some of the electric-y stuff that's popular at the moment (think, like, Little Boots, La Roux etc), get the chords and surprise people with an accoustic cover of it. I reckon that that'd be fairly easy, actually, it's just working out progressions and stuff. Transpose some of the keys to wherever you want and you'd be done. The best covers are the unexpected ones, imo.

See you soon! ARGH I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT SOTON NOW!
