My brain works on auto-pilot when I'm writing and I info-dump and world build at the same time, so it has been requested for me to do some kind of character guide because people are confused (I AM SORRY I write like I’m on speed.)

Let's start with Prae!



I'm the Wu Yifan of map making. I'm amazing. (This map will be update in a few days)

That blob that I drew is the fictional world of Prae where this whole happy wolfy tale is taking place. Prae consist of five clan villages-Dinfire, Durkhai, Morooco Song, Wheph and Mott Argan-and the centralizing village Prae (like its capital).

There is a border village called Ves (feral territory land), Lark's Nest (a hamlet settlement-a scientific sort of community) and Toleran (not pictured) (another patch of land for feral wolves. They also have mage-magic wielding- wolves as well). The Fortress lies in between Durkhai and Dinfire and stands as the home of the Alphas of Prae; it was heavily fought over between Durkhai and Dinfire during the War and still stands as a way of honoring those lost to the war.

There is an Alpha from each village and there is an Alpha of Prae. Your alphas are:

Each Alpha has a First, normally the strongest Beta in the clan. (All First are still the same; they’ve moved up with the Alphas as they moved up to Bonepack)

·         Nickhun’s First: Sonant Tiffany and Nimble Victoria of the Black Wolves -The two have been fighting for the position for over ten years and have drawn a tie and neither will yield the title of First to the other.

(Note: Jinki doesn’t have a Beta or a First. Doesn’t want one. Taemin and Taeyeon are the closest thing he’ll have to one, although they have no official title. Known collectively as the Maegis.) Yerim has been moved up as the closest thing he’ll ever have to a First.

As you know, the previous Alpha of Prae, Yunho has died and is survived by his mate, Boa. Yunho died as part of a prophecy that two new Alpha mates, both male, would usher in prosperity into Prae. Two were chosen. One, a supreme Alpha, the AlphaPrime, Lee Jinki of Durkhai and his mate, AlphaBeta, Choi Minho of Wheph.

Various groups and things in Prae:

Magnus (Magnus Couple, Magnus Pavilion) means “great” in Latin. So I’m essentially calling them the “Great Couple”. Yunho and Boa had a name as well; it was Exigo, which means “Complete.” Heechul and HangGeng? Exorsa (meaning beginning).

Cordia’s Flower-An old poem of Prae. Told the story of how one bee fell in love with a flower in Cordia’s Garden (Cordia was the first child of Heechul) and refused to leave its side. When the bee died, the flower decided to die beside it. As Cordia’s Flower died, it covered the bee in its blood red petals. (I made that shit up, if you go looking for this poem you will be disappointed.)

LudiFlora-A  festival of fertility.

Blue Crescents-A group hellbent on purity on the ruling line of Choi Alphas of Wheph. They more or less force a portion of control over Wheph using the Mandate of Zion; basically a promissory note. They provided Wheph with financial backing before Yunkyum’s rule and use that to apply their influence.  More and More and more, no spoilers, tho.

Golden Shields-an army designed under Yunkyum’s leadership of Wheph to protect the mostly docile village in case of another breakout in war. Facillitated by Shindong and commanded by Siwon. Siwon, along with Donghae and Ryewook are the strongest fighters in the Golden Shields. More and More and more, no spoilers, tho.

The Brave Maidens-a group of 20 or so women and girls who submitted to Yoon’s leadership while he was a member of Durkhai. Now only two remain. Kahi was their former leader. (You remember Kahi right? From the forest.)

The Tameless and The Meek - Two groups of wolves in the feral land of Toleran. Tameless are more feral, and the Meek tend to be like any normal shifter.

Toleran Alpha vs Toleran Omega Magi- Mage blood runs stronger in Omega Magi than Alpha. Omega Magi have a strong propensity to pass along their mage powers and also bear twins. Alpha/Beta Magi do not bear twins are are less powerful in magery.

Olfa- a scent barrier. Very short lifespan and has been barred by Prae for use in battle and mating.

Jinki’s mother’s name is Areum, a wanderer from the caves located in a land above Prae’s borders. When Areum was wandering with her child (Onew) she hid him away by a tree as she went and hunted in the harsh winter weather. When she returned Onew was now here to be found. Iseul and Yoon discovered him, abandoned, on their trek from Toleran (Iseul’s home clan) to Durkhai. He followed in his father’s footsteps, picking up the martial arts and battle prowess in the fashion of his clan. When Yoon was passed over in the Alpha selection for Durkhai, Yoon decided that Jinki would take his place. Jinki’s mother broke her bond with Yoon when Jinki was a teenager and Iseul’s paramour, the current Alpha of Durkhai, Xiah, took Jinki under his wing to teach him the leadership that he needed. Years later, he became the Alpha of Durkhai by “killing” Xiah. We learn that it was a way for Jinki to ascend and give Xiah a chance to go track down his mother, Iseul.   During his third decade as leader, he accepted his prophetic nomination during the Blood Moon Festive where he was chosen as Alpha of Prae.

Jinki’s closest friends are his siblings, Taemin and Taeyeon, and the Alpha of Dinfire, Jonghyun.

Jinki is known to be an expert tactician, strategist, and combatant and his peak physical condition.

If you’ve never seen The Great Queen Seondeok, Bidam was a one man Hwarang leader, Team #Deokman member, and eventual fiancé to the Queen of Shilla. He was also the most BADASS character ever invented. And since Jinki is the most BADASS character in this, well there ya go! Visual reference!

Choi Minho, Omega (titled as Alpha)

Being from the only clan that honors lineal succession, Minho was able to enjoy three generations of his family leading Wheph: his grandfather Reza, his father Yunkyum, and his sister Minjung. Minho was the darling of Wheph, the son of the Alpha leader and the younger brother of the next in line. So much that he was regarded as the Golden Son of the village. He doesn’t know much about his mother. She died at the hand of bandits when he was a baby. Since then, his sister has served as his mother figure in his life, teaching him everything from cooking to hunting. From his father, he learned council and picked up a love of reading. Minho lived a pretty fulfilling life.

That was until Minho turned sixteen and he saw a shift in the way his family treated him. There were whispers and discussions he wasn’t privy too. After an accident at his best friend’s, Kibum, house, he was made aware that the whispers were about an illness Minho had. Nobody explain to him what the sickness was, but he was giving medication that in the first year, caused a rash to cover his body.

When Minho was eighteen, he, his sister and her mate, Julien, were attacked in the forest  by who Yunkyum later identified to Minho as the Blue Crescents. Still, the information given to Minho was sparse and he spent the majority of his time dealing with his sickness that came every three months, and trying to become a better fighter.

When Minho was nineteen, he was sent to Kibum’s house for a week for reasons unknown. During his week stay, Kibum’s father, leaves them for a three day trip. In his absence, Minho begins to hallucinate, and believes he can hear the voices of his family. He, along with Kibum rushes to his house but he is not allowed to go inside. Siwon, the council leader, locks him a shed, and only allows Kibum near him. Kibum informs him of his father and Minjung’s death.
The next day, Yunkyum and Minjung are buried and the council recognizes Minho as the new leader of Wheph.

Years later, he accepts the prophetic nomination for the Alpha of Prae, and is chosen as the AlphaBeta of Prae, and mate to the AlphaPrime, Lee Jinki of Durkhai, which he has a strong derision to due to his illness.

It is later found out that his mother, he was thought to be deceased (a story concocted to keep Toggo and Sunku from looking for her, as well as to keep her bind she placed on her son strong) is alive, living in her home village, Toleran as a mage pit fighter.

Kim Kibum, Omega

Title: Prelate of Bonds, High Steward
Family: Birth family (unknown). Jungsoo (Father, Salamander shifter, adopted) Kangla (Mother, Salamander shifter, adopted, deceased) Malamarme (Mother in Law) Jonghyun (Father in Law) Sodam (Sister in Law)

Spouse: Kim Jonghyun (Bond-mate)

Nothing is known about Kibum before the age of two when he showed up at Jungsoo’s door demanding a meal. Kangla, Jungsoo’s wife, took a liking to the child, and named him Kibum. Jungsoo not so impressed with Kibum’s temper vowed to find his family. After a year of searching, never finding out if Kibum ran away or was abandoned, the couple decided to adopt Kibum (not realizing that Kibum had no plans to leave in the first place). Kibum’s now mother died a few years later after being bitten by a rabid fox while collecting firewood, leaving Jungsoo alone to raise a wolf. Seeing that he was a Salamander, this made things hard when Kibum reached puberty and was declared an Omega.

As he grew up, because of the close relationship between his father and the Alpha of the village, Yunkyum, Kibum spent a lot of time around his son, Minho.

The two, being the same age, didn’t get along too well at first, but eventually Minho got used to Kibum’s temper and Kibum used to Minho being a crybaby and became the best of friends.

Kibum followed his father’s discipline, learning apothecary, but instead of healing people, he learned how to make cosmetics and sold them around Wheph and surrounding clans. It’s how he met Jonghyun, the young warrior wolf from Dinfire. Like most of Kibum’s initial relationships, the two hated each other, but because Jonghyun’s mother was absolutely obsessed with Kibum’s products, they saw a lot of each other, and eventually falling in love.

Kibum has been a confidant of Julien and Siwon and for years kept the true nature of the battle that killed Yunkyum and Minjung a secret. When Minho discovered it on his own, he quickly supplied Minho with all the information he had, eventually revealing Minho’s true statue. Then he, along with Siwon, Shindong, Julien and Jungsoo became the confidants in keeping his status a secret from the world.

When Minho became the AlphaBeta of Prae, Minho’s early nomination that Kibum become the Prelate of Bonds was fulfilled and he now holds that title. He is “engaged” to Jonghyun and the two will mate during the next Mating Moon.

Kim Jonghyun, Alpha:

Jonghyun had a pretty normal childhood. His mother, Malamarme, was a socialite shifter, maintaining social standings in all of the clans, and was responsible for the spike in vendors from other clans visiting Dinfire. She held a board position with the Mothers of Prae and in her youth served as a lady in waiting for Boa, Alpha mate to Yunho, during formal balls.

His father was a general in the Dinfire Army and his sister was mated with a Captain in the same army.

When Jonghyun was old enough, he joined the Dinfire Army under his father’s tutelage, and quickly climbed the ranks due his almost natural ability to fight. By the time he was sixteen, he himself was a Captain.

As Captain, some of the administrative work he had to do was to verify outside vendors from other clans and conducted their entrance interviews. He normally worked with gold status vendors but due to his mother’s insistence, he oversaw the bronze level, which introduced him to Kim Kibum, an apothecarist from Wheph. Kibum treated him with thinly veiled contempt and before they got through the first round of questions the two were at each other’s neck. Still, Kibum was granted entrance, even after he took a swipe at Jonghyun’s neck and his mother became obsessed. Soon Kibum was showing up everywhere, festivals, balls, and the worst of them all, his home.

The two eventually came to full blows in front of the market one afternoon and to Jonghyun’s credit, the only reason Kibum won that fight was because Kibum attacked him by surprise. Eventually the two made up which eventually led to a romantic relationship.

When Jonghyun was twenty, the village elders decided that a new Alpha was needed. Kangin, the current Alpha, agreed, and when Jonghyun’s name was selected, a death match was declared. Dinfire traditions called for death or draw nominations. Either Jonghyun killed Kangin, or Kangin beat Jonghyun and retained his position. Against his own wishes, Jonghyun was forced to participate. Kangin, seeing Jonghyun reluctance, baited Jonghyun and in his anger, he killed Kangin by ripping his throat out. This made him the new Alpha of Dinfire.

Years later, Jonghyun’s name was submitted for nomination to the Blood Moon’s festival for picking a new Alpha of Prae. He was not chosen and remains as Alpha of Dinfire.

Taemin and Taeyeon, Beta

Title: Mageis
Family: Yoon (Father) Iseul (Mother) Jinki (Brother, Adopted) Thunder (Brother) Choi Minho (Brother in Law) Julien Kang (Brother in Law) Minjung (Sister in Law; deceased)

Taemin and Tayeon are the twin offspring of Isuel, a mage wolf from Toleran. Magi wolf from Toleran, rare and powerful, only bare twins. Both Taemin and Taeyeon share their mother gift, in full power and wisdom.

The two were young when their mother broke their bond with their father, but through their powers were able to keep communication up with her. They communicated these messages to Jinki, but kept them from Yoon. Thankfully, Yoon was largely ignorant of his children’s powers, so the two were able to learn from their mother, even from afar, managing to become two of the strongest Magi wolves in Prae. Still it’s been years since they’ve physically seen their mother.

Wu Yifan, Alpha

Spouse: Zhang Yixing (Bond-Mate)

The wolves of Mott Argan do not have a traditional family unit. The Alpha wolves basically impregnate all Omega wolves of the tribe, while Beta wolves are chosen for mating (except for the lead Alpha, that is arranged). Leehom is Yifan’s faher, and it is guessed that Yifan and his six siblings were all birthed from the same Omega. Guessed. Still, they are considered brother and sisters and act as such. Yifan was picked from the liter to act as a familial Alpha amongst his brothers and sisters. These leadership skills and Yifan’s natural prowess and physical aptitude eventually landed him as Alpha of the entire clan.

As with becoming the true Alpha of Mott Argan, Leehom, his father was charged with finding a mate for his son. The youngest son, Tao of the Old Se’hai clan, a noble like clan in Ves, was chosen as Yifan’s mate.

However, before Yifan was chosen, he was already in a relationship with Dinfire’s First, Yixing. Now the two most deal with Yifan’s upcoming marriage as well as their responsibility to the new Magnus couple.

Kim Iseul, Omega

Iseul was conceived by mage magic and birthed to Ama, and her mate, a Toleran village Elder named Sensi. They loved and cared for Iseul but were too old to raise her in the Old Way, so Ama’s much younger siste was given guardianship over Iseul. Being a fierce warrior mage, Iseul was able to learn not only the art of fighting (to some degree) but also the secrets of magery. Focusing on the arts rather than the fighting, she because one of Toleran’s most gifted mages.

Unbeknownst to Iseul, Sunku and Toggo approached Sensi and Ama to set up Iseul as a Toleran Tribute to who they thought would be the next Alpha of Durkhai, Yoon. Knowing that their daughter was too gifted to be a tribute, they declined his offer. Yoon, now infatuated with Iseul, sneaked her across the Toleran border to be his mate anyways. Along the way they discovered a bundle by a tree; an abandoned baby. Iseul decided she couldn’t allow it to freeze to death in the harsh winter weather and adopted him as her own.

They lived happily for some time, as Yoon was on the fast track to becoming Alpha and Iseul giving birth to twins, Taemin and Taeyeon. However, Yoon’s plans for becoming Alpha were thwarted during the tournament. A young shifter by the name of Xiah was his opponent and defeated him, claiming the spot of Alpha of Durkhai. Yoon objected during Xiah’s inauguration and was quickly put in his place by the new Alpha.

It was then that Iseul began to see the changes in her mate. He became mean, abusive, and manipulative. He began to use his mating to a mage, to elevate him to higher position in Durkhai, using those positions to undermine and publicly challenge Xiah at every turn. As Jinki grew older, he turned his actions on to his adopted son, finding ways to blame him for not rising to Alpha.

Xiah, noticing the way that Yoon was treating his family, would visit Iseul while Yoon was hunting or in Wheph visiting his son. The two began to grow closer, Iseul finding that someone caring for you, simply because they wanted to, to be a much addicting kind of attraction that Yoon’s power hungry love. Soon, Xiah and Iseul were spending all of their free time together and Xiah began to teach Jinki the lessons Yoon never cared to pass on.

One night, Yoon forced Iseul to perform a spell that would again undermined one of Xiah’s plans. When she refused, he attacked her, beating him within an inch of her life. When she recovered, he forced her to perform the spell. She was able to tell Xiah about it in advance and they worked towards a solution. This, however, was the last straw for Iseul and the next spell she cast was to break her bond with Yoon.

On the run with Kahi, Xiah’s sister, she moved from city to city to city, changing her appearance and masking her scent. Eventually, years later, Xiah found her, paid the bounty that Yoon had on her head and they moved to Mthunzi a village near her home lands, Toleran. There they became bond-mates and a life together.

Choi Danye, Alpha

Danye and Isis were born to their father, Arasuvai, and his third mate, Akoko, a Toleran Omega Magi Tribute, after his previous two's deaths. Isis died soon after birth from a magi affliction called akwusighi. As a fetus, along with food and water, magi powers serve as a lifeforce. If akwusighi occurs, there is an imbalance where more power goes to one twin while starving the other, resulting in their eventual deaths. Because Isis was considered a still birth, it was doubtful that Danye would manifest any Magi powers, which pleased their father. Having a Magi mate was a political move, but he didn’t particularly care for the powers. He restricted Akoko from using them and if Danye every presented powers, she would be held under that same restriction. He eventually convinced Reza, the Alpha of Wheph at the time, to outlaw mage use inside of their borders. Death was the punishment for it. (This was also an item added to the BC’s long list of things a Wheph Alpha could not use and remain pure.)

Despite that, Toggo and Sunku (Danye's older brothers from Arasuvai previous mate Brollo) and her were raised in Wheph, happily, until the death of their father. From there, things began to get tense between the siblings as Akoko tried to get the mage law overruled. Sunku and Toggo were drawn towards their father’s strict allegiance to the Blue Crescents, while Danye supported her mother’s campaign (that ultimately failed which led to her mother leaving the village, rather than have her heritage be stripped away.)

Danye decided to stay and watched as her and her brother’s went on separate paths. Eventually Danye became the mate of Yunkyum, the Alpha leader of Wheph. Her brother Sunku moved to the leader of the Blue Crescents, and with Danye’s half mage makeup, it led to an uneasy relationship between the three. Sunku and Toggo loved their sister but they also fanatically believed in the Blue Crescents way of life and valued that over blood relations. Danye’s realization that she indeed possess mage powers was something she kept secret, even from her mate.

When Minjung, her first child, showed no signs of inheriting mage powers, Danye was relived. Because she was not an Omega Magi, there was a slim chance that any of her offspring would inherit (Omega Magi give birth to the strongest mages). It was shortly after the birth of her second child, however, when she discovered that her birthright had skipped her daughter, only to manifest in her son, Minho.

Although she knew her husband would be understanding, more than understanding, she didn’t trust the long standing bias against mages in Wheph, and didn’t want to put her mate in that position. Although it saddened her, she had to leave. She could seal Minho’s mage powers until he was at an age to learn and control them, but the longer he stayed around a magi, the weaker the seal would become. She would come back when he was older.

So she disappeared, only with a note letting her mate know she would be back. (The story of the bandits was conceived here to keep others from looking for her).

Years passed and she made herself a home back in Toleran, her mother’s home, where she would spend summers with her mother’s family and later in life, sneak off to, to visit her mother after she left Wheph. Years passed and she decided on her son’s 18th birthday, she would go back. However before she could make the journey she received news of her mate and daughter’s death. It was loosely speculated by townspeople at the hands of Blue Crescents, but those in charge neither confirmed nor denied it. She could never understand why her sibling would murder her mate and daughter, they were perfectly pure. And she would never get an answer.  Her son would rise to Alpha of Wheph and it was then that Danye decided to permanently stay away. She could not risk invoking his powers or drawing further ire from the Blue Crescents as powerless as she would.

He was better off without her.
