An unstrung bow? [Blasphemy, she thinks.]

Oh? That's too bad. I'm fond of them all, really. May I ask why?

It brings back a few things I would rather not see. Such as a certain idiot from home.

[nods] This place almost reminds me of home as well... [trails off for a moment, not paying attention to what he's doing until loses hold of the string and the bow snaps back, hitting him in the shoulder.] Ow!

Are you all right? [Grabbing the bow now, and setting it to the side, in case she has to check the injured area- if it was.]

[touches the spot gently. it doesn't hurt too much] I'm fine; just more surprised than anything.

That's good then. [She picks it up again, and hands the bow back to him.]

Ahh, thank you, Ametatsu. [smiles sheepishly at her] Probably would be best if I cut the string first then strung it on, hmm?

True, but this way I can get it the end of the string looped and knotted--then slip it over this end!

Ah, thanks. [takes the shears and after a couple cuts, he makes it through!] There we go! [hands them back and quickly makes said loop in the end of the string, again bending the bow into position until he's got the loop secured]

[She watches him intently as he goes on his work.] You seem experienced in this, Doctor.

I've had to do my fair share of jobs with a bow. An incident with Charlemagne springs to mind...

Charlemagne... [Where had she heard that name before?]

... The King of Franks?

Oh yes, good old Charlie! [pulls the bowstring back a bit, testing its strength--which isn't very good if those creaking noises are to believed.]

[Is just all "holy crap batman".] You know quite a lot of people, Doctor.

[Okay, that "bow" is old.]
