Beware the homosexuals!

A lot of us know who the Nostalgia Critic is, but if you don't, he just put up a video riff (like MTK3) of a short 1950's short film entitled "Boys Beware", which is about warning boys not to go off with strangers because they could be homosexuals. Not pedophiles, oh no, because homosexuals and pedophiles are all the same thing, you know.

God, it's ( Read more... )

I'm so glad that I wasn't the only person that thought that guy sounded a bit like Rod Serling.

But seriously, that made me a little nauseous. I guess it isn't a wonder that so many people automatically equate pedophilia with homosexuality, if that was legitimately shown to the public. Some of those warnings were fantastically ridiculous, and seriously, I think a movie about not talking to strangers or getting in strange cars might have had a little bit more relevancy.

I can see where the concern was, but they needed to identify it correctly. I just wished they figured out it wasn't a mental illness before, like, the seventies. God.

Yeah, under the laughs it's pretty scary because this was a REAL way of thinking. I also love the 'mental illness' thing. How incredibly stupid. I don't think I've met someone who has thought of it as a mental illness, so at least we've gotten that far in thinking. Now, sick and amoral and Wrong? I've met plenty of those people. I'm inundated by them. Hopefully in another 50 years we'll look stupid to the next generation.

The Nostalgia Critic, gotta love him. I laughed my ass off at his review of The Room. Good God that was BAD! XD

And about this movie... Jeez. People back then... WTF. Stuff like this blows my mind.

OH GOD, THE ROOM REVIEW. I still quote that like crazy. "I didn't hit her, I did nooooot. Oh hi, Mark." XD

And I know not everyone thought like this, because my mom hung out with those horrible homosexuals, but they were definitely brainwashing the masses with stupidity. Yay progress, even if it is slow.

God, I'm here in Texas, hating everyone. :) I saw an actual gay couple in the local supermarket and stupidly wanted to shake their hand, because I never, ever see two men together around these parts. You'd have to go to big cities for that to be more normal. I want to live in Austin. :D

I mean, the fact that there IS a clear distinction between homoesexuals and pedophiles now is a definite plus, but oh man, we have mainstream movies with gay characters shown in positive lights and all over television. Hell, there are several states now that allow gay marriage. I think if I time traveled and told someone this back then, they'd explode. I'm hoping I meet a time traveler from the Star Trek era and they're like, "gay? straight? Oh yeah, you guys used to worry about labels and all that. Our motto is pretty much, 'if it's pretty, fuck it.'

OMG that's both atrocious and hilarious. And what if there were similar messages about the Internet? Do not talk to Stranger, Stranger might try to make you read gay porn and then murder you with LOLZ...

While there is dangers with strangers on the street AND on the internet, we all know that, for the most part, there aren't nearly as many as we're led to believe. If you watch what your teenagers are doing and teach them the right thing to do, then they won't do webcam sessions for strangers and give out their address for a meeting with their parents not knowing. And really, those little boys in the video are idiots and I loved how he pointed out the stupidity of the boys and how hitchhiking was considered a safe and normal mode of travel. wtf?

There are dangerous people on the Internet, that's unfortunately very true. There are also people who would look dangerous to certain people and are actually not, like all those crazy fangirls corrupting youth with gay porn.
