but hey, not my fandom anymore, so whatever. - I love it when you're no longer immersed in a fandom and you can have that attitude :D

uhhh don't watch SPN anymore but might catch up this summer or something because I did like Castiel in S4 and I've enjoyed the screencaps of him on tumblr from S5. but I would def. watch a S6 if they go back to how it was in S1-2.

In Supernatural fandom? It's a godsend, lol. Oh, the wank.

Season 5 is so much more enjoyable to me. But yes, I do want them to back to the olden days. I'd trade Castiel for those days again, even if that sounds mean and douchey. :P

I always love hearing your reactions, if only because they tend to be so different from the rest of my flist. (...I have a lot of Gabe mourners on my flist ( ... )

You have a point, but I'd probably put that under 'general race and ethnic fail' that American TV/Hollywood is prone to. Plus being not only an American but a Texas American, I'm used to Christianity coming before other religions, so I do admit that it's not my first thought, but being happily agnostic and thinking on your standpoint, I am thinking that way now. I just wish the pagan gods were contenders, you know? Like, at least have whatever god that girl was be able to burn Lucifer a bit. I get that the American audience wants to see the devil as the ultimate powerful force with only god really being above him, but come on. Maybe 'God' isn't the Judeo-Christian one in particular, but
God as the universal one god of a collection of religions. Hell, I'd be happy if he was 'allah' too.

Yeah, it's definitely not unique to Supernatural AT ALL. It was just annoying that it got featured there as well.

Yeah! I really wish Kali had been portrayed as more competent when she went after Lucifer. Like, she seemed to know all about how to kill an Archangel -- so why wasn't she better in a fight against one? :\ Disappointing writing.

I think, if the show was going to feature other gods, they should have shown them more as being equal. There was suuuuuch a power imbalance, with Lucifer killing everyone so easily and only another archangel being able to stand up to him, that it really frustrated me.

I definitely agree with you about the pie scene. It's so nice to have a glimmer of their old relationship back, because that's what really drew me into the series in the first place.
I just love the boys and their story. DITTO, SFM. The Apocalypse can't end soon enough so we can get back to "saving people, hunting things." I just hope that it can get back to that simpler (is that even the right word for the Winchesters?) time. So yes, the "apocashit" as you so aptly called it, needs to GTFO. All I need is my OT3 of Supernatural: Sam, Dean, and the Impala on a long, empty road.

YUS. I suppose it's a different story for people who got into fandom in seasons four or five, but really, I'm hoping for the good old days. I get mildly annoyed when people say the first couple of seasons were mostly boring. What the fuck were they watching, because to me they were epic and really, if you can't like the first two seasons, I just don't get you.

So Mischa may not be back next season, so Castiel may die?

Did I miss something?

Oh no, that is entirely speculation. There was a spoiler floating around about him not returning, so it's assumed that he'll die. Frankly, I'm more convinced that he'll just go back to heaven and maybe do a guest spot or two in season six.

I'm just pointing out that there are people so upset at the thought of him dying that they would stop watching the show. :/

I'm pretty new to SPN (almost done with 1st season on DVD as well as catching some syndicated reruns) so I'm not particularly fannish about it yet, but I am enjoying it. I've seen bits with Castiel and I enjoy him on the show but I don't see how him being gone will kill my enthusiasm for it as a whole.

I totally 1000% agree with you about Smallville! They had me till season 3 and they it wasn't the show that I had liked so much in the first place. Also, I've never been able to understand what the big deal was supposed to be about Lana. Her character was so simpering and twee that I could barely stomach her.

I guess it's people who ship Dean/Castiel hard, and I do understand not wanting your ship to sink. I've definitely had that happen and it's not pretty, which probably made me think of SV today in the first place.

LANA. Argh. So much hate. I don't even like the actress because I don't think she can act well, so it even spoiled my enthusiasm for Chuck because she guest starred (stars? haven't caught up there yet.) I had a theory a long time ago that Lana was a meteor freak and her power was to make people love her/be obsessed with her. Of course that theory was dashed and she's really just a horribly written character, but still.

I get your point about sinking ships. Can put a bad taste in your mouth especially if by it happening coinciding with the show jumping the shark. At least SPN seems to have kept itself interesting with the changes they've made.
