You're so much more articulate and positive about this than I am. I'm just like THIS IS TERRIBLE, Way to suck, show.

When I saw he was shot in the neck, I still didn't think they'd kill him! Because tv rules of main characters! I thought smiley Matthew Goode was likely a goner.

Ugh, Josh Charles as Alicia's old flame and new boss was one of the reasons I started watching this show in the first place. I will continue to watch -- no question -- but I'm really disappointed. Will's not replaceable.

I'm not a big shipper when it comes to this show, but I was a mild Will/Alicia shipper. I enjoyed their chemistry, and I was looking forward to their eventual reunion now that Alicia is no longer working for him, now that she's the competition. Purely from the shippy angle, this move would be like killing off Edward Cullen in the third Twilight movie! Or, like Peeta dies during the second Hunger Games movie, lol. Now it's Team Peter or Team Alicia, basically. Team Will is dead, wtf.

Hee! Yeah, I actually don't think it sucks at all, as much of a shock as it was. I love Josh and Will, but if he'd just left at the end of a season, it would have been a whimper and not a bang. It's heartbreaking, but it's also kind of awesome from a story perspective, IMO. So ballsy. I don't know why I'm not mad, because normally I would be in these situations. But they already stood the show on its head this season, and now they're knocking it over and rolling it around until it's dizzy. (Or something.)

I was looking forward to Will and Alicia together in the end as well. I'm definitely Team Anyone But Peter. I imagine another candidate for Alicia's heart will appear at some point.

I've been riveted all season, and I can't wait to see what comes next.

Will's death still feels like a gut punch every time I think about it. Every time I've looked at the Good Wife Tumblr tag I've teared up (at work, even!).

But I still think that this can go good places. If this shakes Alicia up enough to get out of her marriage, I'll consider Will dying a positive direction for the show. (Because Alicia being with Peter makes me a) not understand her and b) not like her.)

I'm just not certain that they'll be able to make this what I need as a viewer. I mean, this is the same team who thought giving Kalinda an abusive ex-husband was a good idea.

I'll give it to the end of the season. If Alicia's still with Will Peter at that point and other characters' arcs aren't up to snuff, I'll probably have to quit for my own sanity.

Edited because: wishful thinking, much?

Heh, your Freudian slip was great. :)

I know, Will's death is just so freaking sad. I honestly was discombobulated all day yesterday and it was hard to focus. It was really well done though, IMO. Heartbreaking!

This show has rarely disappointed me (the Kalinda storyline is the big exception, and they course corrected, at least), so I'm in for the long haul barring something really unexpected. Crossing my fingers and toes for Alicia to move past Peter soon.

Same! I liked Will and Alicia and wanted them to end up together, but I was never really invested. So I can enjoy the drama without feeling sick to my stomach and devastated.

I just watched the new episode tonight and cried pretty much the whole way through. So many feels, and in the best, angsty way. I freaking love that they showed everyone finding out. Most shows skip that, and to me it's the most important part. This episode just nailed it from start to finish. I think this show has been consistently good through its run, with only a few storyline blips -- which I can't say for most shows. But this season is off the charts!
