I just finished reading the last chapter of "Red: after beginning via the podfic, which I listened to on my long commute. Wow, this was truly amazing. The language is gorgeous, the characterizations wonderful, and the Wolf so incredibly creepy and disturbing. I loved the world you showed us, all the day to day details of both logging and planting camps. This was tense and compelling and just utterly wonderful. I'm looking forward to reading more of your stories!
Hey there -- why thank you! I'm glad that the podfic led you to the fiction. If you're really interested, I usually recommend that people have a look at the PDFs I have on my website (http://web.me.com/bigpink1/Big_Pink/Tales.html), especially the Single White, Double Yellow volumes, because the foreword explains a lot and there's scans of my notebooks, and the stories found in these volumes have had a new edit, which makes them even better, in my opinion. Not a George Lucas revisionist edit, just a fairly light touch.
