To be honest, I don't think it's confined to Yorkshire - I think pretty much every self-respecting Englishman loathes them! It's mainly because there are SO MANY glory-hunting Manchester United fans, people who have absolutely NO connection with Manchester, but follow them fervently because they were so big.
They are definitely a 'love 'em or hate 'em' team. I don't think there's a football fan in the country who doesn't have a strong feeling about them one way or another!

*shifty eyes* Well....once upon a time...I must admit that I did...That is, until I discovered the Roonz, the Ronnie, the Ruud and the Becks. (Not in that order chronologically, of course.)And I sometimes find SAF strangely amusing, though not as crack-ish as Jose.
Oh well, we're rossoneri tifosi first and foremost. EPL comes much, much later. *grins*

Bundesliga (or footie, in general) is just so far and removed from me that I really have no idea which teams I should support. Except for the rossoneri, who are my one true love. But to me, Schalke, Munich, Stuttgart and Bremen all pretty much mean the same thing, so I guess that I just follow the ones with the slashy pretty players.
