Is it a bad sign for my parents' marriage that they couldn't spend five minutes discussing their upcoming anniversary? The Monday tell-me-what-you-want deadline came and passed, and they had not talked. It is Wednesday night/Thursday morning as I type this, and they STILL have not talked. Normal couples talk, right? Not that I think she would react to this well, but you do have the option of just planning something and surprising them.

It's definitely an option, but as of right now, it's not at the top of my list. If I'm going to blow my savings, savings that could have been put toward moving out, I want to make sure ahead of time that everyone is going to be happy with the result.

They wouldn't make me do it; I'd probably just end up doing it in the quest to do things "right."
