I stopped dressing nicely on a daily basis in grad school. There's no point, when you're in the lab where chemical spills may happen and no one cares what you look anyway. Outside the lab, my non-chemist friends wore T-shirts when we met, and if I dressed up, even a little, I felt so out of place that I stopped doing it
