Tuesday evening was my Toast Masters meeting.  Went great, we had two guests which was cool and all three speakers were very delightful to hear.  Played some cool games Wednesday evening:  Ivanhoe, a pretty nifty jousting tourney card game.   Winner's circle, a cleverhorse racing game where you try and get your horses over the finish line first so ( Read more... )

sounds like you got a lot done! I've always wondered what toastmasters is like - used to see the flyers at work, sometimes still do (in a dif. building) not sure what the goal/accomplishments/environment is like; I guess it depends on the group.

Toastmasters International has two goals: To help it's members to be better communicators especially public speaking(or Storytelling as in the special interest club I'm in). To increase members leadership skills. Our group is rather informal as far as Toastmaster clubs go. This "formality" is a roadblock for some, depending on thier level of comfort with rules and organization. Being formalized the program relies on completing various projects from manuals. Every speaker is assigned an evaluator who generally will point out allot more cool stuff than shortcomings.
