A Shift in Tone

In order to make sure that I win, I’ll be adapting my journal/listserv slightly. Yes, I’m still going to have my writing exercises and things I’ve simply shat onto the computer because they were in my head.
            However, I ( Read more... )

My only real question has to do with this:
"...and I am going to win."
What exactly are you going to win? A contest? Life itself? A duel to the death with any and all demons?

I'm seriously thinking I missed some sort of entry involving a writing contest. If so, I'll be in the corner flogging myself. If not, tell me soon. Flogging hurts.

...you took that in a dirty fashion, didn't you? Damn.

Flogging is good for the soul.

I win against me, and perceptions of me, and me-the-real-me.

I wish I could properly explain right now...

I'll get to that one. It's about the multiverse in my head.

The multiverse inside Benjamin Stone's head.

That could be a great songtitle.

...

Or maybe not.

By the way, don't know if you're into anthologies... but have you checked out Liam Sharp's "Event Horizon", published by Mam Tor?

I believe he's trying to (re)create the same atmosphere "Metal Hurlant" (and its offspring "Heavy Metal") had. Short pieces, illustrated prose, short comics, experimental, non-superhero, edgy... hmmmmm... ;-)

Most people don't understand "crazy" until they've actually had to see it and live through it, whether up-close-and-personal with a loved one, or through a condition of their own.

It sounds cliche, but having people around that understand my own problem (depression) helps a great deal. I'm looking forward to reading what you have to say.
