He might be a child molester and she a drunk, but by "family values" at least I can assure that everyone else's children must have a man and a woman as parents.

Wow, the twits are flittering, and it isn't even spring.

I read it as "society's disapproval of Teh Gay is the only thing that stops me leaving my husband in search of some Hot Girl/Girl Action". Just another example of how the homophobes seem to think gay sex is way more fun than the procreative chore they're subjecting themselves to for the common good.

Or something.

If Tom and Bill get married to each other, or Heather and Anne get married to each other, this will cause my children to suddenly lose a parent? I'm deeply, deeply shocked.

Did you listen to the new head of the NH Republicans this morning (or evening) on NHPR? I wanted to throw my radio out the window, but it was too damn cold. We've apparently become raving liberalpinkocommies up here in NH, did you know that? And here I still thought I was in the minority of NH liberalpinkocommies!

BTW, will be emailing you about getting together sometime. I'm already in fear of becoming the crazy cat lady, here by myself. No, not that! :-)

basically if you're not a Heritage Foundation votary, then you're a Flaming Liberal. Disagree on ANYTHING of the Party Line, you become an instant Unperson.

The fact that most of the country is by that standard Flaming Liberals - and has always been - does not faze them. They are simultaneously the Few, the Proud, and Represenative of Everyman.

(Crazy cat lady myself :)

...but they still make me laugh.

Sigh. Why can't these people remember the difference between civil and religious marriages? BTW, to judge by the Oregon and California experience, going for civil unions first is a Really Good Idea. You say "marriage" and the crazies get scared.
