Ahhh, nice. Whether friendshippy or more, it's good. Subdued, but comforting, without quick-fix fluffiness.

I like this line best:

"Sleep," he said, because it sounded a sensible doctor thing to say. He thought about it, and hoped neither of them would dream.

I think it's apt, Owen trying to be sensible just then, and I also wonder if he's thinking about dreams he may've had after his ghost machine experience.
