The further adventures of I AM THE MOST RIDICULOUS PERSON...!

► GENERAL:
→ Oh, Madoka Magica fandom, you're just about all grown up now, aren't you? I'm not surprised the first kerfluffle was over the anime episodes potentially not airing at all (meaning, we'd have to wait until September or so when the dvds come out), it was bound to get some people wound up, and it's not like I'm not anxious for the ( Read more... )

My gift: wearing people down. ;P

But yeah, I do kind of question why they chose that ending over everything else. The manga scanlations aren't that far yet so it's hard to gauge how true it was to the source material or if it diverged somewhere in that final episode.

It's a very good gift to have! You can get so many things out of people if you just wear them down!

I appreciate that they didn't try to make up their own batshit ending (I've been burned on enough adaptations like that) but surely they could have tweaked it a little bit more more resolved? (Unless they were waiting for another season? Then I could sort of understand it.)

Hahaha, yeah, my irritation with Claymore, let me show you.

W-well. I think that's a vote for the Claymore manga over the anime then, I take it? XD

Yeah, I saw the Madoka thing yesterday. And while I'm disappointed in potentially having to wait until September for the final two episodes I completely understand why the station might be opting to postpone airing the episodes indefinitely. Anyone who doesn't get that is an asshat.

I'm sad about it, too, especially because that's a really long wait, but... if there is a lot of stuff with a ruined, flooded city, I really can't blame the station for not wanting to air them. Like, SERIOUSLY. (Though, I suspect a part of why that guy kept arguing was just for the sake of proving a point/that he didn't like being told off, so he just kept refusing to back down, rather than actually being that entitled.)

Yeah, he just didn't want to be wrong. Because, really, it's hardly a matter of political correctness or censorship like he was arguing. It's being respectful of people's very raw feelings and emotions, PLUS not having to deal with the massive amount of flak and bad press the station would catch for airing something like that.

I do believe people can really be that dumb (especially about what censorship is and isn't) but it just smacked to me of a lot of not wanting to be wrong/not wanting to lose the argument they were having. And I'm sorry we're not getting the episodes sooner, but I think I might have made the same decision as MBS there. It would have been in really poor taste, even aside from the potential backfiring of sponsors and viewership.

I was just thinking about Michiru's reaction to the various people that Haruka would interact with and you're right that she doesn't seem to mind when it's Usagi. Though, I seem to recall that she does get pretty bitchy when Haruka flirts with other people? It's an interesting situation--the one other Haruka ship I could take seriously, that's the one Michiru doesn't seem to mind? Possibly Michiru sort of understands? Because, honestly, who isn't a little in love with Usagi?

The show totally encouraged the shipping of Hotaru and Chibi-Usa, I just... *flails* I'm such a Helios/Chibi-Usa fan that it sort of pains me! Because Hotaru and Chibi-Usa are so cute and the anime encourages it so much--!

And I really liked that moment where Sailor Moon shows up, glassy-eyed with baby Hotaru in her arms, it was absolutely an epic moment... that really had no build-up to that particular moment. It's a beautiful, iconic image, to see her walking out with the baby in her arms, having refused to let Hotaru just sacrifice herself, but... we ( ... )

I'll admit to being disappointed that it'll take so long to see (if ever?), but that doesn't even register compared to what's going on in Japan right now. Geez.

I really do think a lot of it was just that that dude didn't want to be on the losing side of the argument, rather than believing that doggedly in his actual arguments. But it is one of those situations where it's hard for me to comprehend being that insensitive to what another country is going through.

Sure, I want the next episodes of Madoka, too! And, sure, I'm disappointed that we'll have to wait and I might wish that Japan could pull itself back together sooner because I like their products. But if they don't? THEY CAN TAKE ALL THE GODDAMNED TIME THEY NEED, BECAUSE SERIOUSLY. Anime/manga isn't exactly high on the priority list. (And it's more that... I hope they can get back into their usual routines, because that's how life goes on and I want the people of Japan to be okay. I want them to be able to move forward. Just... when they're ready.)

I liked a lot of the aspects of R, too! I was always interested in the Black Moon family especially! (I just thought the pacing and focus were pretty terrible compared to other seasons. XD)

Ooh, that is an excellent vid, thank you for the link! I think it would have been stronger without the lip-synching (one of the few videos I'd say that for), because the use of music/sound effects timed with scenes from the Madoka Magica anime looked really good. Especially Mami. MAMIIIII, YOU LOOK SO AWESOME~~!!

Super's probably my favorite. Outers, hehe *_______* (I remember idolizing Michiru cause her American dub had the same name as me lol)

Classic will always be my favorite. But, then, I'm really here for the balance between Mamoru/Usagi and Usagi's friendships with the other girls, so that season will always be the best, NO ARGUMENTS ALLOWED. XDDD

I love how much fandom loves Mami, for serious. ♥
