This was really interesting, to me. I like how Sam is just beginning to figure himself out and Jay's patience with him felt nice. I liked him as a character. Your Dean here was fun, too. :)

I'm glad you found it interesting. I haven't had an OC bring me this much joy in a long time. And I'm glad you thought Dean was fun. :D

It is really sweet. Jay is cool. And Dean is funny. And Sam is so... Sammy. There's lots of nice little details in it, great lines and moments.

I really love this fic! Sam is a natural for the "questioning" part of GBLTQ, and Jay, who is used to secrets and things unsaid, is a lovely character and a great possible boyfriend for Sam. The way Sam was accidentally rude to Jay, both out loud and in his "loophole" thoughts, is an early part of questioning for a lot of people, I think. It was really interesting to see him apologise and move beyond that stage - a younger (or older) Sam might have just accepted, but this Sam is stuck between a gentle childish naivety and his burning adult desire to be normal. And Dean being an utter chauvinist pig and yet only wanting Sam's happiness is, well, very Dean.

I hope Jay and Sam got to hang out in San Francisco some time.

Thanks so much! I loved the idea of Sam going to a GSA for that very reason; everything in his life is in flux all the time, and having a place where his uncertainty is welcome would be so good for him. (Dean is actually the one I had the hardest time writing in this, and I'm glad he came across properly Dean-ish to you!)

It's entirely possible there's already something like that being written. *looks shifty*

My daughter used to be a member of the GSA (she's in college now) and this sounds so much like some of the stories she would bring home. This is sad and sweet and very believable. Good job from the Rush-Henrietta GSA's "Cool Mom" :)

This story came from a lot of my own GSA experience, though I sadly never had a Jay. I'm so glad it felt believable to you. Thanks muchly from a former member of Yorktown's GSA. :)
