Red, sensitive, dry skin and French Drugstore Lines

My skin is going crazy lately. My skin is sensitive, on the dry side, and rather red. I'm thinking I might be leaning toward rosacea - my cheeks and skin are usually ruddy, and I do get zits/bumps there not infrequently. I plan on calling my doctor tomorrow for other issues, and I'll ask about this too ( Read more... )

One vote for Avene. It's one of my favorite brands, ever.

I was leaning toward that because I think the bottles are prettier :p Thank you!

I second Avene. I've used the Gentle Gel Cleanser and had good results (though it actually was a bit drying for me at first). I'm also using azelaic acid for mild rosacea and it's really working for me. Your dermatologist may prescribe this (typically in the form of Finacea). Good luck!

i haven't tried the thermal spring water spray, but i've used evian's version of it and i heard they were really similar - anyway, it was a really good product and i liked it a lot! i think mineral sprays like that are nice to have even just to spray over makeup. i would probably go with the avene products, from what i've heard!

I used to use Laroche for my skin redness.
I used the line meant for red skin, the yhad a green tinted moisturizer, and I used their sunscreen.
The green moisturizer was nice, but didnt seem to help THAT MUCh with the redness, and it would flake off afte ri put my makeup on, it didnt seem to soak in, just sit n top of my skin.
I woudl realyl reccomand NOT buying and laroche, its good ,but ther ear emuc cheaper th8ngs out ther efor the cost.

i hav ebeen wanting to try avene, pls tell us how it is if u do buy it!

I would stay away from vichy too, it has fragrance and may screw your skin up more.

spectrogel has one that is for oily skin and sensitive.
its nto very 'foamy' but clean well.

My first answer was cetaphil, too bad you dont liek it!

good luck!
