I use it, don't have any pics...I have to admit they look much lusher after waking up. I think it's just plain hydration, and maybe that they suck up the oil into the cuticle?

I was kinda thinking the same thing. Like, since your hair tends to grow longer [or, rather, seem to - it just doesn't break off] when it's healthy & moisturized, I would guess eye lashes work the same way? Do you use just EVOO or another oil?

I use EVOO since I know it won't cause my eyes to break out or something weird like that. Never tried the others!

Thanks for the info! One more question: How do you apply it? Do you use a q-tip or a cotton swab or...?

I use castor oil, but I don't have very good pictures of my un-mascaraed lashes.

It is my belief that oil works by inhibiting the reproduction of the demodex mites that are present on the lashes (and nose hairs, etc) of most human beings. It is said that castor oil is an antimicrobial (I suppose most oils can be?), so in THEORY, this could be responsible for stuffing those little suckers. They probably do something to the lashes, otherwise they wouldn't be living there.

Conversely, it could just be the extra conditioning from the oils help lashes stay stronger/healthier so they don't succumb to the damage of lash curlers and drying mascaras.

I think my lashes are 50% denser 30% longer than what they are without nightly oiling.

:] It works for many of us, so give it a shot!

Haha, yeah, I read in an article once that if too many try to live in a follicle at once, it can make your eye lashes fall out.
& thanks for the roundabout percentages, those sound great! I just started using it as an eye make up remover, so I'm curious about this extra perk :D
How do you apply it? Do you use an old mascara comb or a q-tip or...? Like right now, the only time it gets used is when I'm cotton-swabbing the make-up off my eyes, but then I wash my face after, so I don't think my eye lashes are getting much benefit from that.

I use one of the colored mascara wands from an old Colossal lash mascara. The color helps me see just how much is going to go on my lashes. :\ I won't lie, I sometimes get annoyed at how messy castor oil is. It's very viscous and when it sits on the eyelashes it "balls up."

When I first started using cleansing oil to remove my makeup a few years ago, I noticed a definite improvement in the quality of my eyelashes. So just removing makeup with oil might have a little bit of an effect, but probably not as much as keeping oil on them overnight.

I would try olive oil but I can't stand the way it smells. Still, mascara wand makes applying oil much easier than the q-tips.

Will taking off my eye makeup with EVOO have the same effect? :P

Yup. I've used EVOO as an eye makeup remover for over a year, and simultaneously it moisturizes and conditions my lashes. Two birds with one stone! XD I don't have any pics, but I'm asian with short, sparse, straight lashes and they're slightly longer and stronger now. When I use my lash curler, I was shocked (a few weeks after I began using EVOO as a m/u remover) that there was so much more length of my lashes to curl! :D
