I use shampoo as body wash all the time, so I would imagine any SLS-free shampoo would be fine. Dr. Bronners is okay but it's kind of harsh. It might be too drying for your hair.

I spent an entire summer washing my hair with Dr. Bronner's (working for the Forest Service, living in a tent) and I have to say that the results were flat gross. NOT recommended.

some people use dr bronners with good results, others absolutely hate it. I expect it would tend to build up, as soap does (body wash and shampoo are detergents, not soaps). if you followed it with a vinegar rinse it would probably be better, but there goes your faster thing. The body wash from Kiehls I have used as shampoo before, it's sls free and smells great, though I don't want to know what they cost (it was a gift). a day or two ago there was a question about either no-poo or sls free shampoo, and a link to some bodywashes that the OP was looking at as shampoos. They looked pretty good to me, I would try to find that post and look up their ingredients.
