vegans and hair loss

there have been a lot of posts on the subject of possible hairloss and i'm also suffering from this. however, my case is probably because i recently became vegan, and after doing some research online, i found that your diet reflects on your hair growth. since i've cut a lot of things out of my diet, my hair has been coming out a lot in the shower ( Read more... )

I am a dietitian and I see this sometimes in my patients. The biggest reasons people lost hair are protein deficiency, iron, and Vitamin C deficiency. You could try to track the amount of protein and iron that you're eating on a site like calorieking.com.

Or obviously you could go see a dietitian that specializes in vegan nutrition :)

I'm in agreement with the above comments, but would add biotin to your diet. Eggs are a major food source of it, and if you've cut them out that might be a fast fix.
