Affordable skiing/snowboarding clothing or accessories

I just saw a post within the last few days where someone is going skiing soon... Since it's winter, AND I'm going on a trip in about 3 weeks, I was wondering if any of you ladies (and gents) have suggestions for affordable ski/snow wear. I ordered blue ski pants off eBay for about $36, but some of the other people in our party can't spend too much ( Read more... )

I dont think I've ever found any snow stuff that was ever real comfortable lol it always itches and gets sweety. I spent maybe near 60? I dont remember, at a skater store for a pair of pants that I've worn once, but I keep them, I'll never grow anymore. Sometimes its good to make an investment in something a little more spendy, it lasts longer.

I think, if you can't fina ny beanies you are in love with, just get something warm and comfortable, think cold, not fashion ;) Try things on, shop around. I hate walmart but its good prices.

Becareful of the ski lift....I went once, it was the last time I went, 2nd time going down, I hurt myself pretty bad getting OFF that thing lol

Haha, my friend wiped out getting off the ski lift too! For me it's worse getting on, but getting off is scary when there's lots of people.

I think I'll check Walmart and probably Target. Thanks!

haha yeah, it was so sad. getting on and off was scary. I had a friend with me, and we already had issues getting off the first time but this time, his board caught with mine, and twsited my leg around. I was in a half cast for about a week, it sucked!!

those places are great to look at :)

I wear kids gloves all the time with no problem. Obviuosly don't get the super small size, but most 'regular' sized ones fit me.

I'd def. reccommend e-bay or an outlet store like Marshall's, TJ Maxx, etc.
and I'd say large/regular-size kid's gloves would work absolutely fine. and they're usually cheap or at least cheaper. I snowboard regularly during the winter season, and I spent the money to get real gear, but since you're not an experienced or regular ski-er, I would recommend looking on e-bay for good snowboarding/ski pants. Burton is the brand of boarding pants I have (or you can just buy snowpants with suspenders anywhere or online).

scratch the comment about pants. just realized you've already bought a pair. hah. but anyway, as far as other gear, I'd get sunglasses (like ski-ers tend to wear) or goggles (which most boarders wear, and which personally I think keep your eyes warmer and less dry if you have sensitive eyes, as/if you're going down the slopes super fast).

Where are you that you can go skiing? So Cal? There still hasn't been any snow in Upstate NY.

Anyway, definately try TJ Maxx. Especially because there's been like NO snow (at least were I'm from) and there has been less of a demand.
