breaking in new shoes?

Jun 14, 2012 12:55

Not necessarily about beauty, but about clothes...I have a pair of tennis shoes that are really cute but I've only worn a handful of times because after only a few minutes (whether sitting or standing) they make my three end toes on my left foor as well as the bottom of that foot burn. How do I fix this so I can comfortably wear them more?

I don't think those types of shoes can really be 'worn in', can you exchange it for a bigger size? Or return it? I have troubles with shoes too cause I have particular feet but after years of torture I know better than to wait to wear shoes in... they can't be worn in, unfortunately. Maybe only heels.

Well I tried to loosen the laces as much as possible. That left foot is a tad wider than my right, but they're already a size 6 I believe, and I can fit a 4 1/2 or 5 so I was surprised my small feet fit in that. There's no way to take them back because I've had them months.

Have you tried wearing some kind of socks with them, maybe to ease the pain? I really don't know, I dont' wear painful shoes unless I'm driving so I know I wont be walking much lol. maybe try bending and twisting them to loosen them up a bit? That's all I can think of.... There's this article, if you havent seen it with some tips also: http://www.wikihow.com/Stretch-New-Shoes

Tnaks! I do wear socks...I think because one foot is slightly wider I just had my laces too tight...even though I thought they were loose. They were asic shoes. I guess some are just made to fit more narrow feet.

Are they a leather upper? Maybe getting them stretched would help, it sounds like a width issue. You could probably google ways to do it yourself if you don't want to pay for it.

I read about shoe horns and trees. I really have the money for nil. I read also soak it in alcohol and wearing can stretch it then it dries that way. The top is mesh thnough and they are partial leather. Thanks

Try filling a ziploc bag with water, putting it in the shoe, and then putting the shoe in the freezer. As the water freezes it expands, stretching the shoe a little bit. :)
