I'm going on a West Wing tour of the White House, and returning to my high school to guest speak within the next month or so. My business casual wardrobe is somewhat lacking because I'm a nurse, and I go to work in scrubs. Have you considered wearing a suit? I grew up around DC & highly recommend wearing a suit or conservative dress at the White House (no matter why you're there).

I thought this as well, but my friend (who is giving the tour and, incidentally, works at the White House) said that business casual/Sunday best is fine.
